On March 24, 2023, in Saint-Lô (Manche), the security guard of a supermarket, alerted by a customer, intercepted a man who was trying to go through the checkouts while having hidden a bottle of whiskey in his pants.
The man then agrees to come and reimburse the price of the bottle. A debt which he never came to pay, and which made him answer for acts of theft, Tuesday November 5, before the Coutances criminal court.

An appearance from the remand center

declares the defendant, arguing that despite his criminal record which shows 18 mentions, he is well on the way to reintegration, already benefiting from the semi-liberty regime.

According to the requisitions of the prosecutor's attorney, the forty-year-old was sentenced to a 60-day fine of €2. Each unpaid day fine will earn him that many days of imprisonment.
