Patrick Glaude, who was a shoemaker at 24 rue Haute-Vienne, has passed away. He was a figure in the commercial landscape in Limoges.
With the departure of Patrick Glaude, the business community in Limoges is deeply affected. He had a nice personality. Clients of course appreciated his professional skills, but also his human qualities.
Grandson of a master bootmaker, he was immersed in this world from his earliest childhood. Initially, he took courses at the leather and skin school in Beaublanc, from where he graduated with a CAP.
In 1974, he joined the Weston company, where he worked for more than 14 years.
On Saturdays, instead of resting, he put his skills to work at the shoe repair shop at 24 rue Haute-Vienne, run at the time by Michel Robin.
When the latter asserted his retirement rights in 1993, Patrick Glaude took over this matter.
Also wanting to give himself some free time, this craftsman feared not finding a buyer. Two years ago, he handed over to François Chéroux.
A passing of the baton, immortalized at the time by photographer Maxime Jouy. Smiling, in love with the sea, he withdrew from life discreetly.
To his family and loved ones, our newspaper sends its sincere condolences.
