SAPL, an arms factory based in Orne, taken over by one of its historic partners

The Society for the Application of Lefebvre Processes (SAPL), a company which manufactures weapons and ammunition in Gauville, near L'Aigle, in Orne, was placed in compulsory liquidation on October 28, 2024. But it was immediately bought by Chiappa, an Italian group with which it had worked for more than twenty years. The jobs are all maintained, including that of the general director, granddaughter of the founder.

It’s a century-old company that has just been saved. The Lefebvre Process Application Company (SAPL), an arms and ammunition manufacturing company based in Gauville, in Orne, has just been bought by a long-standing partner: the Italian group Chiappa (70 million euros of turnover).
