No gathering in front of the village of the Vendée Globe, in Les Sables-d'Olonne, this Tuesday, November 5, 2024. It is the prefecture which announces this ban by a press release:
“In order to prevent disturbances to public order and guarantee public safety, the prefect of Vendée has taken by decree measures temporarily prohibiting processions, parades and gatherings in front of the village of Vendée Globe on Tuesday November 5, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Les Sables-d'Olonne. »
An L214 effect?
The prefectural decree can be consulted here.
This decree is undoubtedly motivated by the possibility of a demonstration of the environmental association L214.
According to our colleagues from the regional weekly press, the association intends to demonstrate at midday in front of the village to protest against the breeding practices of Maître Coq, sponsor of skipper Yannick Bestaven.
