“Today I am confident, I can announce to you that the Prime Minister wants the parliamentary debates to restore the credits allocated, from the budget of the Minister of the Economy, Finance and Industry, to the Economy social and supportive. We must rejoice at this strong choice,” the new Minister for the Social and Solidarity Economy (ESS), Marie-Agnès Poussier-Winsback, declared this Monday to the EBRA press group.
200,000 companies, 2.5 million people
The 2025 finance bill presented in October currently plans to reduce state credits for the ESS by 25%. With wind rising, former socialist minister Benoît Hamon criticized an “unconscious” budget project. With others, such as Éric Chenut, president of Mutualité française, or Jérôme Saddier, president of Coop FR, he also sent an open letter to Michel Barnier.
Marie-Agnès Poussier-Winsback is going to Dole, in Jura, this Tuesday to participate in the regional conference on the social and solidarity economy and to visit a company.
Nationally, the social and solidarity economy has more than 200,000 companies which employ 2.5 million people.
