Cantal: the entire program of the 2nd Remarkable Sites of Taste exhibition

This show will be held in Mourjou, a small village in the Cantalian chestnut grove known for more than 30 years for its Chestnut Fair which, each year, attracts more than 20,000 visitors over a weekend, that of June 8 and 9, 2024.

The land of chestnuts awaits twenty exhibitors “Remarkable Sites of Taste” from all over France for this second edition : Roquefort, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Comté AOP, Grande Champagne cognac, Riceys wines, cheese and salers meatsardines from Saint-Gilles-Croix-de Vie, prunes from Agen…

Of which newcomers like saffron from Quercy, andouille from Val d’Ajol or white wine from Alsace. As well as the SRG “Mourjou, Châtaigneraie Cantalienne”: La Bogue du Cantal, Les 3 Caves, Christian Charmes, la Maison de la Châtaigne and Gaec Puech Nadal.

In the program

The inauguration will take place Saturday at 11 a.m., with the Brotherhood of Pelou. THE SRG Bouin Oyster is the guest of honor of this edition, cooking demonstration Saturday at 4 p.m. Catering areas will be provided to allow product tasting purchased from producers’ stands; the village inn will also offer a special lounge menu from Friday evening to Sunday noon. Saturday and Sunday: presence of the Castalous in the flour workshop and guided tours from the Maison de La Châtaigne at 3 p.m. Culinary show for kids at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Manufacturing demonstration chestnut baskets from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Culinary demonstrations with chefs hosted by Odile Matteigastronomic journalist, patron of the show: at 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
