After following Baron d'Arros to the town of Orthez in the 1560s, 10 peasant-soldiers from the Casteloisirs de Castelner association rallied for some reason to Baron de Monluc, sworn enemy of the first. “It was in Mont-de-Marsan,” explains President André Bergeron, “still with Grégory Vigneau in period dress (1560 to 1570), an actor keen on the history of the Wars of Religion, that we walked through the remains of the fortified city, following Sieur Blaise de Montesquiou de Lasseran de Massencome, Baron de Monluc, in the years 1560 to 1570. We were captivated by the precision of his words peppered with tasty anecdotes. » It was for the participants a rich and picturesque walk, a discovery of unknown places and a unique character.
A castle and a cabaret
A few days later, on Sunday October 27, 40 members of the Casteloisirs association, accompanied by friends from Lacrabe and Momuy, crossed, without difficulty, the customs of the Principality of Laàs, in the heart of Béarn, for a guided tour of the Château and the impressive Serbat collection retracing the seigniorial life of the 18th century. A walk in the castle grounds allowed everyone to admire its English, French, Italian and even exotic gardens, with the added bonus of a beautiful view of the Gave d'Oloron.
A lunch enhanced with a musical show was offered in a neat and intimate setting, before the afternoon show. “We then discovered a unique concept in France, in an unusual place,” rejoices André Bergeron: an old Romanesque chapel, deconsecrated and restored by young girls called the Red Ants by their outfit and the work accomplished, now houses a cabaret show “.
The elders attended the Gabrielle de la Fourmi Rouge review, dedicated to Women: a super modern show in 13 scenes, led by very talented dancers and singers, in holographic projections and light shows… In short, a original release particularly appreciated.
