The Carmaux Tarn Heart and Health Club is organizing a conference on the theme “Are women’s hearts in danger?” It will take place Thursday, November 14 at 8 p.m., at the Pierre-Bérégovoy room in Carmaux. This conference will be moderated by Marie Blaye Félice, cardiologist at Albi hospital. It is part of the French Cardiology Federation's national campaign “Women's Hearts in Questions”.

In , cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of death among women. They kill eight times more than breast cancer and, today, more than 11% of women who suffer a heart attack are under 50 years old.

Since 1976, the “Heart and Health” clubs, created by the French Cardiology Federation and its regional branches, have spread prevention messages throughout France and promoted the rehabilitation of patients who have had a cardiovascular accident.

“Phase 1” is the cardiovascular accident, followed or not by an intervention (revascularization, bypass surgery, etc.).

“Phase 2” is rehabilitation in a hospital environment. “Phase 3” is the resumption of regular adapted physical activity, within an “adapted physical rehabilitation and health sport” club. In Carmaux, the Carmaux-Albi-Tarn-Nord club was created last March and has since offered numerous activities, adapted to small groups, at a regular pace (spouses are welcome).
