A key initiative for the Department, the main contractor in the development and maintenance of roads, this charter is part of an approach to reducing the carbon footprint of the sector. It notably promotes the recycling of bituminous materials from road construction sites, to reduce the use of non-renewable resources, and highlights more energy-efficient construction techniques, such as the use of warm and semi-warm asphalt mixes, while by developing cold techniques.

Preserve and restore biodiversity and natural environments

The charter also includes a priority on preserving biodiversity, with solutions aimed at protecting neighboring ecosystems. Watercourse renaturation and urban greening projects will promote the ecological integration of infrastructure. In addition, the signatories commit to developing secure infrastructure for soft mobility, such as cycle paths, to encourage low-carbon travel.

Finally, an experimental section of the charter invites companies to propose ecological solutions during calls for tender, in order to stimulate innovation in decarbonization projects. This partnership will be monitored every six months to guarantee continued adaptation to environmental imperatives, while the FRTP, which brings together a thousand establishments in Pays de la Loire with eighteen thousand employees and two thousand learners, is committed to providing expertise and solutions. techniques to local communities.
