“There is a breeding ground”: the National Rally of Morbihan wants to recruit young activists

A “youth” departmental office is being created, within the Rassemblement national du Morbihan, at the beginning of November 2024. Théo Thomas, 26, has just been appointed delegate. “I was the departmental leader of the Young Republicans for eight years, until the section was dissolved in March 2023.” His deputy is Antoine Oliviero, defeated candidate in the last legislative elections in 3e constituency.

Since June, the number of RN 56 members has doubled. The far-right party is banking on people under 30. “We already have 250 in our ranks: that’s a lot, out of 850, but we can do better. There is a fishpond,” assures Nathalie Guihot-Vieira, departmental manager.

“Good activists, good executives, then good elected officials”

“We want to recruit as many new members as possible throughout Morbihan, to train them to become good activists, good executives, then good elected officials,” adds Franck Nicolas, regional delegate.

Since 2021, the National Rally of Morbihan has experienced its share of controversies and bickering. It aims, with this restructuring, to establish teams “efficient and motivated”. In line of sight, “the municipal elections, but also the potential legislative elections, in the event of another dissolution next year, and the presidential election obviously.”
