The entrance to L'Aigle (Orne) via what is usually called the Paris road will be significantly modified in the coming weeks and months. Before moving the Espace Emeraude store next to Profil Plus (Lallemand Group), the Community of Communes (Cdc) of Pays de L'Aigle will carry out a complete development, including a roundabout.
Moving Espace Emeraude
At the meeting of April 13, 2023, the vice-president of the Cdc in charge of economic affairs, Philippe Van-Hoorneannounced that the Ruaux Group wished to acquire land in the area of activity of the Bois Aulard has St-Sulpice-sur-Risle (Editor’s note, it would rather be the La Pichotière area).
The Ruaux Group, created in 1987 and specializing in the sale and repair of garden equipment and all spare parts and self-service gardening items, owns the Espace Emeraude store located ZC Les Anglures, in St-Sulpice-sur -Risle. The aging building is no longer suitable for commercial development.
His project is to acquire land with a surface area of 28,170 m²to construct a building of approximately 5 000 m² including a maintenance workshop, a reserve, a spare parts store, an exhibition/sales store, offices and administrative premises. It will be supplemented by a courtyard for the storage and display of materials. Parking spaces, a circulation area, an outdoor presentation area and a green space equipment testing area are also planned.
The Department requests dedicated access
During this community council, the elected representatives of the Cdc decided to sell plots no. ZE 197 B and no. ZE 197 E for a total of 28,170 m² at 29 euros per m².
This move, the date of which is not known, is not without impact on this entire sector which will therefore have to be developed for greater security. At the meeting of June 22, 2023, Philippe Van-Horne explained that “the Orne Departmental Council recommended dedicated access to deliveries for the Ruaux Group project. This access must be at the back of the zone to secure traffic, in order to prevent semi-trailers from crossing customer vehicles.”

The access proposed by the firm in charge of the development crosses the ZE plot n°329 belonging to the SCI Allée du Pressoirwhose manager is Christian Lallemand. This agrees to sell a total of 316 m² at the price of 20 euros per m². This will make it possible, as is the case for access to the Renault garage, to create a parallel service.
A project in four phases, from November 4
The development work is starting now and will take place in four phases, until next April. Here is the detail.
Phase 1, from November 4 to January 15. Creation of the roundabout on the RD 926b and widening of the entrance to the ZA to secure access during the following phases. This phase only results in a reduction of traffic to 50 km/h.
Phase 2, from January 16 to 31. Final coating. Connection of the roundabout to the main road and start of work towards the activity zone. This phase causes a narrowing of the roadway. Presence of the traffic light to ensure the safety of users on the RD 926b.
Phase 3, from February 3 to March 3. Widening of the intersection, new ZA lane, cycle path, and heavy goods vehicle parking. Normal traffic on the RD 926b.
Phase 4, April 4 to 10. Final coating on the service road and the crossroads as well as the entrance to the roundabout. Presence of traffic light construction site to ensure the safety of users on the RD 926b.
This schedule may be subject to modifications in the event of climatic hazards. The Department of Orne is participating in the financing of this project to the tune of 187,000 euros. a total budget of 1,255,725.20 euros.
