A cyclist committed to soft mobility broke on a bike
It was in the 8th arrondissement of the French capital that Paul Varry was cycling on October 15. A 52-year-old motorist found himself facing him, in the lane dedicated to two wheels. After a verbal altercation, the driver will steer his vehicle towards the cyclist, knocking him over and running over him. The police investigation resulted in the motorist being brought before an investigating judge who charged him with murder and placed him in pre-trial detention. Video surveillance images and the autopsy carried out confirmed the course of the events. That one of the brothers of the unfortunate cyclist summed up this way when he spoke: “It only took 34 seconds for this monster to take your life, using its omnipotence in its car“.
