Thursday October 31, a brawl broke out in front of a restaurant in Poitiers (Vienna) around 10:45 p.m. Gunshots were heard and two gangs of minors aged 14 to 16 clashed. Five people were injured, one of them between life and death. Sylvain Charenat, from the Alliance Police Gironde union, adds that “150 people” would have gathered.
The next morning, the mayor of Poitiers went there to comfort the residents. The shooting took place against a backdrop of drug trafficking, in an area known to be home to several drug dealing points. It would have taken place under the eyes of around sixty local residents. An investigation has been opened for attempted murder. The suspected shooters, still being sought, could be identified by a surveillance camera. The Poitiers prosecutor is expected to hold a press conference during the day.
