What is a garage sale called where everything is free? Answer: a Gratiferia. And it is in Saint-Molf, near Guérande (-Atlantique), that this event will take place on Sunday November 3, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Beforehand, you will need to drop off your items to donate to the cultural center Roby-Wolff in Saint-Molf this Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. La Gratiferia, organized by the A deux mains association, will take place in the same place.

“Give what is superfluous without expecting anything in return”

“Spirit is giving the superfluous without expecting anything in return. It also means avoiding having to buy again, and not overconsuming raw materials and the planet's resources. It is above all an invitation to get rid of material possessions that have become useless so that they circulate and benefit others, but also to think about our daily consumption patterns, for an evolution in our way of thinking and living. », Didier Aube, one of the organizers, at l'Écho de la presqu'île.

From clothing to tools

This concerns “clothing, books, toys, household objects, tools, DIY, school, sport, leisure, decoration… In fact, all objects, clean and in good condition , which everyone can bring or pick up,” lists Audrey Malabry, member of À Deux mains.

Large objects or objects that are difficult to handle, furniture, garden furniture, trailers or others, must not be brought into the room. A notice board with the photo and description of each piece will allow the person who gives in and the person who is interested to organize themselves.

“Better consume while having fun”

Several tonnes of equipment, household items and clothing are offered free of charge to the public. Arranged on tables, on racks or in dedicated spaces, they are classified by theme.

Collecting items does not imply giving them away.

Everyone is free to take what they like, within reason only. It is a modest participation in an essential cycle for the planet: consuming better while having fun.

It is also a moment of meeting and exchange, open to all.

Donations to associations

Objects that have not been collected by the general public will be donated to Au Bonheur des Bennes, a solidarity recycling center in Saint-Nazaire. Associations can also come at the end of the day to have objects that are useful to them. This will be the case for Operation Togo, which will benefit from summer clothing not already distributed. Other interested associations can contact À Deux mains.
