Return to this time of exchanges.

It was in the premises of the family pension managed by the Red Cross of Lot, located in Pradines, that the “Open Doors” operation took place on Friday May 31 as part of the 4th National Pensions Week family, event aimed at raising awareness and promoting the development of this system within the framework of the objectives of the government policy of “Housing First”.

In the Lot, the French Red Cross manages 3 family pensions in Gourdon, Espère and Pradines, for a total of 34 places and 10 Residence Home places, particularly for people suffering from stable mental disorders.

It is generally after having known the street or the accommodation arrangements that residents, oriented by the departmental Integrated Reception and Orientation Service (SIAO), are welcomed into structures on a human scale where they benefit from a individual accommodation, without time limit and have access to shared spaces hosted by guests.

This “housing” break often comes at the end of a chaotic life journey, and meets the needs of people whose social and psychological situation makes it difficult to access ordinary housing. It allows you to regain autonomy, while benefiting from support during times of collective activities, in a warm living space.

It is with real enthusiasm that the residents of the Pradines guesthouse invited local residents, partners and institutions to visit their living space, particularly the collective spaces which allow them to reconnect, at their own pace, with “living together”.

The residents present, Rosalia Marsicano, structure manager as well as the team of employees of the Red Cross of the Lot worked together to make this “Open Day” a friendly, informative time around a shared meal.
