After the wolffish arrived a few weeks ago at the Océarium du Croisic (Loire-Atlantique), it's the turn of a blue lobster to come and swell the numbers in the aquarium.
If the first are loaned for a long time during the work in their basins of the Océanopolis of Brest, the second has a more particular story.
In a fish pond
The lobster in question was visible in a tank at the Hennequin fish market on the quays of Port-Joinville on L'Île d'Yeu (Vendée).
Its blue color, linked to a strong protein called crustacyanin, attracted a resident, Paul Henry, who took the initiative of calling the Océarium du Croisic to offer to collect it.
A good idea, especially since for 40 years, the Océarium has been involved in lobster farming and fishermen or fishmongers bring rarer specimens, white or red as in 2012.
No helicopter but a shuttle
The repatriation of the blue lobster was not long in coming. To the point that he could have been taken by helicopter. But for technical reasons beyond his control… he took the shuttle from 2:15 p.m. for an arrival at 3 p.m. where he was taken care of by Géry from the Océarium.
The lobster will now be able to live in complete peace in the calm waters of the basins of the Croisicais establishment.
