From November 2 to 9, the best men's tennis players arrive at the Metz Arena for the Moselle Open. A week of high-level sport at an affordable price, just 1 hour 45 minutes from Strasbourg. And with stakes that could be important at the end of the season.
The cream of French tennis arrives at the Arènes de Metz, from November 2 to 9 for the Moselle Open, a benchmark tournament in France. The ATP 250 tournament [quatrième catégorie des tournois professionnels, ndlr] once again welcomes beautiful people for its 21st edition, which promises to torture hundreds of little yellow balls on the way to the title.
Long the preserve of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga [recordman de titres avec 4 victoires, ndlr], the Moselle Open crowned last year the local stage Ugo Humbert, currently 18th in the world and first French. This year, many contenders will compete for the title again, including one from the top 10 for the moment.
A top 10, a young prodigy and ambitious French people: a quality table
Special feature of the Metz tournament this year: it is placed in the calendar after the Paris-Bercy Masters 1000, and just before the Turin Masters, bringing together the eight best players of the year. To put it another way: the table is likely to evolve, depending on the results of Paris-Bercy, for those looking for a last minute qualification. We could then have a few more big names.
For the moment, a top 10 is announced in the table: Casper Ruud, currently 7th and not yet officially qualified for the Masters. Otherwise, the young nugget Holger Rune (13th and winner at Bercy in 2022), Karen Khachanov (21st), Sebastian Korda (22nd) or even Matteo Berrettini (35th but former Wimbledon finalist) are included in the table.
On the French side, we currently announce Ugo Humbert, who will aim for the double in his hometown, but also Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, recent winner of the ATP 500 in Basel and new 31st in the world. Adrian Mannarino will aim to finish on a good note, after a very complicated season.
A tournament at affordable prices
Only located 1h45 from Strasbourg, the Moselle Open has the nice particularity of being very affordable for people wishing to watch high-level tennis. The qualifications on Saturday November 2 are, for example, accessible from €5, while on weekdays, prices start at around €28 for the round of 16.
The atmosphere is always very joyful, especially during a French match. If you would like to take places, it's happening on this page. We will see if the picture expands further in the coming days, but the battles promise to be intense among our neighbors in Lorraine.especially if qualification for the Masters is at stake.
