450 quality carp are presented at the Koï show in Nièvre [Vidéo]

Seventy-two dark blue bins were installed one after the other to form aisles allowing visitors and judges to be able to observe all of the 450 koi carp presented. Fish belonging to individuals and professionals from all over France. From Indre et Loire, Aude, Normandy, Belgium, Luxembourg.

Quality at the rendezvous

Rudy, from the Ardennes, won the grand prize. Award which designates the most beautiful fish in the French championship. The jury, in green jackets, made up of a Frenchman, two Belgians and three Americans and a few student judges, throughout the day of Saturday June 1st, decided between the competitors by observing and noting their color, their scales, their brilliance… “The quality is there”, appreciates Guillaume Bouxin, the president of France koï show, an organizing association with the logistical support of the Nivernais company Aqua Rev.

Carp which can still be admired throughout the day this Sunday, June 2. The competitors will not leave until the end of the day, after the prize giving ceremony. In the morning, an initiation with a French judge should be offered.

Between 400 and 500 koi carp competing at the French championship in Saint-Quentin-sur-Nohain

Guillaume Bouxin is satisfied with the attendance. “There are people there despite the weather and the location. Among them, there are a few amateurs who follow us but 95% of the visitors are strangers.”

Attendance is satisfactory

They can watch the fish and have the opportunity to leave with some. “Nothing prevents exhibitors from selling,” explains the president of France koï show. “Among the stands, there are three exhibitors who have bins with fish for sale.”
