“Memory must be present in all moments,” announces Michel Simon, president of the “Cahors, heritage on the move” association. On the occasion of the inauguration of his third edition of Éphémères du Patrimoine, entitled “From one bank to the other”, he invited his guests on a stroll, Wednesday May 29, to discover the Cadurcian heritage.

On the boat, Le Valentré, the festivities can begin. This is an opportunity for the sixty guests to learn more about the exhibitions which will be held, rue Nationale, between place Claude Rousseau and place Hélène Metges, from Wednesday May 29 to Monday September 30, 2024. For this new edition, historical memory is in the spotlight. The first exhibition “The remarkable bridges of Cahors” highlights the history of the disappeared historic Cadurcian monuments (the Pont Vieux, the Pont Neuf and the Pont Valentré). The second will transport the Cadurcians, like the tourists, to the heart of the Liberation of France and Cahors. Themes that were “close to the heart” of Michel Simon. “These are elements that must be taken as a reference in the evolution of the city,” he says.

The rest of the inauguration continued with a ride on a little train and a moment of friendly discussion, Place Metges. “This event allows us to enlighten those who are not yet sufficiently informed about Cadurcian heritage,” concludes Jean-Luc Marx, mayor of Cahors.
