This is one of the conclusions of the memo published by the National Institute of Geographic and Forestry Information (IGN). The forest inventory tells us that the stock of wood increased significantly between 1985 and 2023, with an additional billion cubic meters. This is important information for the environment but also for the economy, since the sector mobilizes many employees. On the other hand, depending on the storms and the maturity of the trees, the volume of wood did not increase uniformly. In Seine-et-Marne, the “living volume” has increased to a limited extent. The evolution is between 0 and +50%, which is very low.
