Started last May, the work will be completed before the start of the school year in September 2025. Three new university residences will welcome 620 students on the Belle-Beille campus, from back to school 2025 in Angers (Maine-et-Loire).

Built by Angers Loire Habitat

The Belle-Beille campus of the University of Angers will benefit, for the start of the 2025 school year, from three new residences built by Angers Loire Habitat. And there was urgency: the number of students continues to grow in Angers and today it has reached 47,000, which can cause housing difficulties.

“With these new residences, the share of Angevin students benefiting from social housing managed by the Crous will reach 6.8%, very close to the national average of 7%”, specified “ the mayor of the city, Christophe Béchu.

A third place set up

A third place will take place in one of these residences. Work and meeting spaces, or even resource centers, can also take place there.

Energy performance will be ensured by photovoltaic roofs and connection to the Belle-Beille heat network. Finally, the use of low-carbon materials will limit the environmental impact of construction.

Total cost of the operation: 40.5 million euros.
