We can't count the number of preparations based on the famous Jeep Wrangler, versions sharpened for trudging off-road. But that was without counting on this unique variant seen in Morocco, barely wider than a motorcycle and whose tandem architecture evokes that of the Renault Twizy. Furthermore, the owner of this unique machine, who clearly does not like half-measures, also has in his garage the exact opposite, namely the widest Jeep in the world.
It does exist in real life
The vehicle does exist, it is not a creation of artificial intelligence nor a retouching using Photoshop software. The various photos like the video from local photographer Mohamed Saber bear witness to this. Obviously to get there, the work was colossal, the chassis and the bodywork were cut and re-cut in every direction. At the front, the typically Jeep seven-slot grille has disappeared, giving way to a pair of headlights more reminiscent of those of the pre-war Peugeot 202 and 302.the grid less in front of the optics. While the widest Wrangler in the world has 24 (see our photo gallery).
It would have retained its 280 hp V6 engine…
The driver obviously occupies a central place and is free to enter/exit from whichever side he wants. It's a little sportier for the passenger who has to slide behind his back as best he can, but a Renault Twizy doesn't necessarily do better in this regard. Seen from behind, the spare wheel remaining on the narrowed tailgate seems as imposing as a sombrero. And under the hood, has the engine shrunk too?
According to the photographer, the 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 engine with 280 hp and 353 Nm would still be in place. Difficult to believe given the narrowness of the compartment, but the video does indeed reveal the sound of a heat engine. In any case, handling the machine must be very delicate given the narrowness of the tracks and the height of the center of gravity.
