“Responding favorably to the initiative of the FSU 04, the FCPE, the SE-UNSA and the SGEN-CFDT have decided to question all the elected officials of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence on the subject of the class closures which are taking place. will produce mechanically in the department if the project to eliminate 3,155 positions in primary education and 185 in secondary education envisaged in the 2025 budget presented by Mr. Barnier were to succeed,” reports the collective of education unions in the Alps. -de-Haute-Provence.
“Grasp the issue now”
He adds: “All the inhabitants of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, parents of students, elected officials, must measure today the consequences for the territory of such a policy and do everything possible to avoid it .”
It is for this reason that an email and a letter were sent “to all the municipalities” of the department. He indicates: “When a class closure is announced in a school, we see various mobilizations: petitions, demonstrations, strikes, blockades, occupations. However, the same mobilizations at the national level at the time of the presentation of the budget would allow us to avoid these closures. Following our action during the school map operations in 2024, the academy inspector returned to the planned closures”.
According to the collective, “the consequences” of the policy envisaged by the head of government will “result very concretely from next spring in numerous class closures in our department, to the detriment of the students, their families, and the inclusive school and the municipalities concerned”. This is why he calls on communities to “seize the issue now”: “We therefore invite all elected officials in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, through their associations and their networks, to weigh in as soon as now at the highest level in order to stop this desire to degrade the schooling conditions of students and the educational offer in our territories.”
