Launched last year, the corn maze at Ferme Pays is back this summer in Vergezac. New features have been announced, including nighttime excursions into the labyrinth.

The maze set up last year in a cornfield at the Pays farm in Vergezac was a great success. It was visited by just over 2,000 people in a month and a half of opening. Proof that “the activity was enjoyed. It surprised us a little,” reports Delphine Haon, the farmer behind the project.

Navigate in complete darkness

The first edition having been crowned with success, a second was necessary to transform the essay. The seeds have recently been in the ground, and the labyrinth should make its return in the summer. “We hope to open during the month of July,” specifies the operator who is planning new features for this new opus.

To begin with, the course will be lengthened and games will be added to the route. “We wanted to make the activity even more fun, by letting chance guide visitors,” says Delphine Haon. For example, they will have to turn a wheel which will tell them which path to take.” The route therefore promises to be different, but the reward upon exiting the labyrinth remains unchanged. Like last year, ice cream will be offered to participants.

Another new feature is that the labyrinth can be explored at night this summer. Two or even three evenings, during which players will try to find their way in complete darkness, will be offered. Only flashlights will offer them a glimmer of hope of finding the exit. During these festive evenings, a refreshment bar will also be available to participants. They will also be able to enjoy a comforting burger.

The new features of this second edition should bring a new lease of life to the labyrinth. Thus, “people who have already visited it last year will be able to rediscover it,” enthuses Delphine Haon who also hopes to see new arrivals on her farm. “This activity can allow families who would not necessarily take the step of visiting a farm to discover how it works since we also offer tours of the farm.”
