Indeed, the three public consultations concerned requests for exclusive mining research permits in the west of : the first in the region (Kervignac, Nostang, Hennebont and Languidic), the second in the east of Morbihan, the south of Ille-et-Vilaine and the north-east of -Atlantique (20 municipalities), finally, the last concerns Loire-Atlantique and Maine-et-Loire (18 municipalities).

Objective: block prospecting

Launched on the sly, these consultations – “requested by Breizh resources” – were open to the public from June 24 to July 22. “All this in a context of the Olympic Games, elections and going on vacation. Perfect for focusing on a major subject,” quips Dominique Williams today. This is why the association decided to organize a public meeting, this Friday October 25, 2024, at 8 p.m., at the Kervignac patronage hall, in order to inform the inhabitants of the four municipalities of the Lorient region. , they too were sidelined. “We have the impression of feeling excluded from the procedure,” insists Élodie Le Floch, mayor of Kervignac. Besides, the municipal councils of the four communes said no.”

The second objective is also – and above all – to block prospecting on the land of the individuals, communities or companies concerned. “We are arriving at phase II,” explains Dominique Williams. This is the moment when samples are taken from the land in question to know their composition. The law authorizes us to refuse these prospections.” A form (already online) will be made available to residents in order to “make Breizh resources bend”. “We receive half a dozen per day,” assures Dominique Williams.
