A petition was submitted to Les Montets concerning the support of children under 7 years old who must take public buses to go to school. It includes around sixty signatures, informed Cédric Péclard, who held his last municipal meeting as trustee on Tuesday (our Wednesday edition). The school regulations stipulate that, since the beginning of 2023, municipalities must provide a companion for children when there is no school bus.
“It’s very complicated to find someone to make these trips four times a day. We will process the petition and possibly create a commission to find a solution,” indicates Cédric Péclard. According to the Friborg Directorate of Territorial Development, Infrastructure, Mobility and the Environment (DIME), a deadline for the start of the 2024 school year is given to allow municipalities to organize themselves, particularly in terms of the budget.
On another note, the 2023 accounts, presenting a profit of 286,000 francs for a total expenses of 5.9 million, were accepted. Two investment credits were also validated: 200,000 francs for drinking water and 1.365 million for separation.
