After years of work, Julie Husson, resident of (Your) has finally completed its third treasure hunt: The treasure of Gisors has been accessible since Sunday October 13, 2024.

By happy coincidence of the calendar, his first treasure hunt was solved a few days earlier. “The treasure of Euskadi has been found, at the moment we can’t stop,” smiles the passionate 47-year-old from Vernon.

In fact, no less than 300 presales were carried out for the Gisors treasure, the contents of which amount to €10,000. Many researchers were already there even before the official opening date.

Through the Vexin Normand

“We have a Discord server (messaging platform on which the community can communicate live, Editor’s note) already open on which 119 people are already fully engaged,” rejoices Julie Husson, who also benefits from the support from the City of Gisors.

This new treasure hunt transports you throughout the Norman Vexin, in the footsteps of the legendary Templars: “This new episode makes a bold nod to the story of Gérard de Sède and his famous legend. However, The Treasure of Gisors is not just a myth: it is based on precise historical research, encouraged by the municipality of Gisors. Contrary to initial fears, no excavation is necessary, the treasure is not buried. »

A treasure hunt in an armchair

Like the famous Golden Owl, the treasure of Gisors is “ a treasure hunt in an armchair“. “Once you have the map, you have to make historical research which are done from home with an Internet connection,” summarizes Julie Husson.

Fun and supportive project

In addition to its fun aspect, Le Trésor de Gisors is also a solidarity project. For each card
sold, 5 euros are donated to the recoloring of the Tree of Jesse in the Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais church in Gisors, thus contributing to the preservation of heritage.
If the treasure is not discovered within 24 months, the €10,000 winnings will be
entirely donated to this cultural project.

To create her map, she immersed herself in the history of the Templars and based herself on archives that can be consulted online by everyone (Gallica, Persée, departmental archives).

“We still need to do research. It is a learning process and a methodology. It’s an exciting intellectual adventure! », continues Julie Husson. A single move will be necessary to decipher the final enigma.

Researchers now have two years to unearth the Gisors treasure. On your cards!
