In the trunk of the car, animal carcasses placed on a plastic sheet without any respect for hygienic conditions. This is one of the discoveries made by gendarmes of Val-d’Oise during a vast road control operation carried out on Friday October 18, 2024, as part of the fight against road insecurity carried out by State services.

Control operations on the A16, in Persan and L’Isle-Adam

On the eve of departures in All Saints’ Day holidaysthe soldiers of the Departmental Road Safety Squadron (Edsr) reinforced by three mobile gendarmerie squadrons, two dog teams, customs and land transport inspection, were deployed on theA16but also in Persan and L’Isle-Adam.

In addition to the discovery of animal carcasses, which were seized by the gendarmes while proceedings were opened against the owner for this prohibited transport, another motorist was found in possession of a machete.

Drugs, alcohol, telephone while driving

Furthermore, several offenses were noted by the military, seven motorists having been checked positive for narcotics and an eighth to alcohol, while seventeen were surprised with the phone while driving.

The gendarmes also report possession of narcotics, lack of a goods transport license, failure to wear a helmet on a scooter, but also the control of fake VTCs, marauding taxis outside the authorized sector or even of foreigners in an irregular situation on the territory.

“Our checks are not intended to trap users, but to ensure that they arrive at their destination,” Colonel Denis Mottier, head of the Val-d’Oise gendarmes, confided at the beginning of the month.
