The coach of the Senegal U17 national team, Pape Ibrahima Faye, revealed a list of twenty players for the UFOA-A U17 tournament. This tournament will be held in Thiès from October 20 to November 3. Eight countries from Zone A will compete for the title of champion. The main issue is qualification for the next final phase of the U17 African Cup of Nations (CAN). The Cubs begin their journey on Sunday October 20 against Liberia.

The competition takes place at the Lat Dior stadium in Thiès and at the annex of the Abdoulaye Wade stadium in Diamniadio. Senegal plays in Group A, alongside Guinea, Gambia and Liberia. Their first match is set for October 20 at 3 p.m. against Liberia. The second meeting will take place on Wednesday October 23 at the Diamniadio Annex Stadium, followed by the final group match against Guinea on Saturday October 26 in Thiès.

During the last UFOA-A tournament, Senegal reached the final, losing to Mali. This tournament allowed the team to strengthen, leading to its first continental title at the 2022 U17 CAN in Egypt. In Group B, defending champion Mali will face Sierra Leone, Mauritania and Guinea-Bissau. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.
