Exhibition “Dream Team, variations around Panini vignettes” at the Citadel of Calais

by the Hauts-de-France Institute for Photography

Visual arts, Photography

Outdoor photographic installation on the theme of football, the “Dream Team” project combines the projects of contemporary photographers Olivier Cablat and Elena Anosova.

Both take up the characteristics of the Panini sticker: a bust portrait, full-frontal, centered and tightened on the faces of the players, while offering new variations. At Olivier Cablat, the Panini album is transformed into a sort of scholarly document which, with humor, highlights the popular culture of football.

At Elena Anosova, the portraits, taken during her residency with the professional adapted football team Amiens SC, take the form of a human chain, embodied by a hand on the shoulder of each of the protagonists. Thanks to this formal process, the photographer reveals the dimensions of solidarity and self-affirmation that sport represents for these men and women.
