Participants reached different summits and refuges including the summit of the volcano Fuya Fuya at 4,265m, the refuge Jose Rivas of the Cotopaxi Volcano at 4,864m, the Whymper refuge And Whymper Needles respectively 5,000m and 5,300m from the Chimborazo volcano, the highest mountain in Ecuador.

Each participant had to raise a minimum of $3,000 in donations for Diavie (www.diavie.org) and Diabète Drummond (https://diabetedrummond.com), two organizations dedicated to providing local services to people living with diabetes.

The president of the board of directors of Diabète Drummond, Madame Isabelle Dubois and her daughter, Sandrine Chassé were among the group of participants.

The two organizations together raised nearly $50,000 to help finance their respective missions and the local services offered to people living with diabetes and their loved ones.

Diavie and Diabète Drummond would like to thank the Terra Ultima agency, a division of Explorateur Voyages, and the two guides who accompanied the group to Ecuador for giving them an unforgettable experience.
