The Saint-Martin de Vayrac Association held its back-to-school general meeting at the end of September, an association whose aim is to participate in the restoration of the church. After a fall in 2020, a stabilization around fifty members is observed.

In July 2023, the four paintings located in the choir of the church returned wonderfully restored. To celebrate this operation, the mayor of Vayrac, Loïc Lavergne-Azard, organized for heritage day on September 19, 2023, a presentation ceremony of the paintings carried out by Yvon Pierre Kerléo, member of the Saint-Martin council and in the presence of Gaëligue Jos, departmental advisor. The four concerts in 2023 were a good success and thus strengthened the association’s cash flow for future restoration work.

The financial report, solid, with a surplus of more than €2,000 for 2023, is adopted unanimously.

Future restoration projects concern the bell tower, as well as part of the 17th century altarpiece, in carved and painted wood.

On December 15, a concert will be organized by the Dulci Jubilo chamber choir composed of around ten a cappella singers, directed by Christopher Gibert, with Christmas carols on the program. As this is a group with an international reputation, the fee for such an event is higher than usual concerts. This is why the association calls on patronage from traders, craftsmen and individuals. If you wish to support this action, you can make a check payable to: Association Saint-Martin, indicating “Christmas concert sponsorship” on the back, sent to: Association Saint-Martin, Town Hall 46110 Vayrac. A tax receipt will be returned to you. For all explanations: Tel. 06 37 13 99 68 or email: [email protected]
