The investigating judge at the Casablanca Court of Appeal ordered, this Wednesday morning, the placement in pre-trial detention of Jonathan Harroch, the general director of City Club belonging to the Nation Sportive group. The latter is now facing serious charges, including kidnapping and human trafficking.

After being placed in police custody for 72 hours by the National Judicial Police Brigade (BNPJ), Jonathan Harroch was presented to the King’s Prosecutor at the Casablanca Court of Appeal on Tuesday October 15. Due to the seriousness of the alleged facts, he was heard by an investigating judge who, at the request of the prosecutor, ordered his incarceration in the local prison of Aïn Sebaa, in Casablanca, commonly known as Oukacha.

The accusations against Harroch are particularly worrying. They include acts of kidnapping which, if proven, would constitute violations of fundamental human rights. Furthermore, human trafficking evokes unacceptable immoralities that affect dignity. This affair acts as a disturbing omen of a reality that many experts fear to discover in certain sectors.

As a reminder, the circumstances of his arrest, which occurred on Saturday October 12 in a Casablanca palace, did not fail to create scandal. Indeed, Harroch was apprehended in the company of two women. During the police intervention, officers also seized illicit substances, including cocaine and ecstasy, which deepens questions about the business manager’s lifestyle.

Jonathan Harroch was already the subject of a wanted notice linked to acts of issuing bad checks. This set of grievances presents a picture of a delicate legal situation for the now resident of Oukacha prison.
