This year, fourteen people from will take the start of the Grand Raid on Island. The meeting for Ultra-Trail enthusiasts takes place from October 17 to 20.

D-1 before the launch of the Grand Raid 2024 of Reunion Island. The 32nd edition of the major sporting competition takes place from October 17 to 20. This year again, thousands of runners will start the 5 races across the landscapes of the island located in the Indian Ocean.

The Ultra-Trail races will bring together 7,300 international participants, French, Reunionese, Guyanese, Caledonians, Guadeloupeans and Martinicans.

Fourteen trail runners from Martinique made the trip to take part in the sporting event: 6 will set off on the Diagonal of Fools4 on the Mascarenes, 2 on the Métis Trail, 1 on the Bourbon Trail and 1 on the Zembrocal Relay.

With the “Métis Trail” new for this 2024 editionthe Grand raid de la Réunion now includes 5 races:

  • the Diagonal of Fools from Saint-Pierre to Saint-Denis (175km, 10,150 m elevation gain)
  • The Bourbon Trail from the Stade de Cilaos to Saint-Denis (100km, 6,120m elevation gain)
  • the Mascarenes of Hell-Bourg in Saint-Denis (70km, 4,000m elevation gain)
  • the Zembrocal Relay from Saint-Joseph town hall to Saint-Denis (149km, 9,115 m elevation gain)
  • the Métis Trail from Saint-Paul to Saint-Denis (50km, 2500m elevation gain)
