The Department of Yvelines has decided to suspend its aid to municipalities lacking social housing. It thus hopes to compensate for its drop in revenue in 2024.
To help the municipalities of Yvelines meet the objectives for the number of social housing imposed by the State, the departmental council subsidized the construction of housing. But, faced with its drop in revenue in 2024, it decided to suspend the “Deficiency Prevention” system, indicates Les Echos Sunday October 13.
He “has no choice but…”
“In view of the serious budgetary crisis it is going through, the Department will continue to support the municipalities concerned in defining their strategy and setting up their social housing operations, but has no other choice than to suspend its financing programs”, justified the departmental council, cited by our colleagues.

Since 2018, as part of this system, the Department has contributed 20 million euros to the creation of sixty-seven social housing creation operations, or 1,400 homes. In the south of Yvelines, Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines was notably able to benefit from it.
