The weather is rainy and grayish in the East this morning of Tuesday October 15, 2024, while it is milder on the leeward coast. This trend reverses at midday. The sky clears in the east, while it becomes cloudy in the interior, in the cirques and along the western slopes. Overflows are expected towards the coast.

The day dawns under a cloudy and still humid sky in the East after a very rainy night. Meteorologists at the Chaudron station recorded 20mm in Le Baril, 45mm in the heights of Sainte-Rose and 6mm in Saint-Benoît. It is therefore not surprising that the weather is still gray and rainy this Tuesday morning from Sainte-Marie to Saint-Philippe.
An improvement appears over the hours, while in the interior and in the West where the start of the day was more pleasant and bright, the clouds settle in.
From the beginning of the afternoon, a relatively compact cover is installed over the cirques and along the western slopes. Météo-France La Réunion specifies: “The clouds are becoming more present in the Cirques with cloudy overflows towards the west coast (a few light showers along the slopes). The northern coast should retain some nice clearings.”
The general flow is oriented in the North-East to North sector. Maximum gusts should be 40 km/h along the northwest coast.
Temperatures are relatively stable. Forecasters estimate that thermometers, under cover, should display 26 to 29°C on the coast, 22 to 24 in the Cirques, 13 at Pas de Bellecombe-Jacob and 15 at Maïdo.
The sea is slightly rough to rough. A swell of 1m50 is breaking along the east coast.
