Provide ten million mealsevery year, in collective restaurants in Meurthe-et-: this is the objective of the system around short circuits, launched by the prefecture on Monday October 14. To fill the plates with local products, she brought together local communities and farmers from the department around the table. Laurent Rouyer, president of the Chamber of Agriculture, welcomes this ambitious project on Bleu Sud Lorraine. But he asks for guarantees.

For now, not all sectors are ready to respond to demand. That of market gardening, for example, needs to be reconsolidated. “The Lunéville- sector was a major producer of fruit and vegetables 20 years ago. But demand and European competition contributed to the collapse of the markets.” A reconstruction that will take time, explains Laurent Rouyer.

“We need security and visibility for farmers and manufacturers who engage in this approach”. While the agricultural world is in crisis, Laurent Rouyer pleads for guarantees in terms of duration and financial balance.
