A sound and light show takes place in the heart of the Saint-Sulpice church to tell you the history of the monument, which is intertwined with that of France. The historic building in the 6th arrondissement of Paris welcomes for a month, a immersive show alliant sound and light and the eventful history of the construction of the place, at the dawn of the French Revolution, which caused numerous rivalries between the families of the Saint-Germain district.
For 1h30, monumental 360° image projectionsperfectly adapted to the sculptures of the building, come alive in interaction with the play of actors and extras. They embody several generations of the neighborhood’s families, for a real journey through time, to the heart of one of the most important construction sites of the Great Century and the daily life of Saint-Germain. Enough to admire hundreds of costumes and enjoy original piano music. More than 150 costumed extras bring this historical fresco to life, which takes us from the intrigues of the Fronde to the beginnings of the French Revolution.
Designed by the director Damien Fontainethis show uses cutting-edge visual technologies to dress the vast walls of the church with spectacular projections. By combining video mapping, immersive sounds and dialogues recorded by professional actors like Annie Duperey, this performance is distinguished by its immersion totale at the heart of the history of Saint-Sulpice. With two performances each evening at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., it is an opportunity to rediscover this neoclassical gem through a unique artistic and technological prism and original.
Beyond simple projection, Paris Heart of Lights invites us to experience a real journey through time, where the major stages of the construction of Saint-Sulpice mingle with the broader history of the city and of France. The spectacular staging with the numerous actors who invade the entire space of the church, allows this monument to be appreciated from all its angles. We find ourselves completely immersed in the story, at the very heart of the action.
