The Métropole de votes a budget of 4 million euros for hospitality

On the occasion of its permanent commission, the Metropolis of Lyon voted on October 14, 2024 a budget of 4 million euros to support public policies of hospitality and solidarity.

A week after inaugurating 50 new emergency accommodation places in and in a tense context on the question of welcoming single mothers with children under three years old, the Lyon Metropolis voted this Monday, October 14, a budget of 4 million euros to support public policies of hospitality and solidarity.

During a standing committee, the community unanimously decided on this budget which will make it possible to finance local associations and “actions undertaken to accommodate people in difficulty“. In detail, more than 3.4 million will go to associations such as Le Mas, Foyer Notre Dame des Sans-abris or even Habitat et Humanisme Rhône. The money should make it possible to “finance hospitality and social support sites for isolated women with children and young people in difficulty” explains the Metropolis.

175,000 euros are also allocated to the associations selected as part of the Territorial Reception and Integration Contract (CTAI) calls for projects. “This measure will strengthen the reception of new arrivals and homeless people, ensuring them social support and dignified living conditions.” details the community.

The City of Saint-Genis- also obtained a grant of more than 100,000 euros for the creation of housing for women victims of violence. A project which should be done in partnership with the Le Mas association. “These accommodations will guarantee social and psychological support for women in vulnerable situations.” concludes the Métropole de Lyon.
