A “Major Popular Demonstration” will be held in downtown Geneva on Saturday. Police are announcing traffic disruptions from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Road users are asked to comply with orders from police and event staff. Public transport routes will also be disrupted.

The procession starts from Place de Neuve. The axes concerned are as follows: Place de Neuve, rue de la Corraterie, rue de la Confédération, rue du Marché, rue de la -d’Or, rue de Rive, rue d’Italie, rue du Rhône, place du Port , quai du Général-Guisan, pont du Mont-Blanc, rue du Mont-Blanc, rue de Chantepoulet, place de Cornavin, passage des Alpes, rue du Fort-Barreau.

Organized by the BDS (Boycott – Divestment – ​​Sanctions) movement, it denounces the foreign policy of the Swiss government. Among the elements highlighted is the fact that the National Council voted on September 9 in favor of suspending Switzerland’s contribution to UNRWA. In addition, the actions of companies, such as UBS, Pictet and BCV, which invest in illicit Israeli practices and derive financial profits from them are criticized. The demonstrators are calling for a military embargo and an economic boycott.
