A delegation from Dongfeng Automobile Corporation, a major player in the Chinese automobile industry, recently went to Casablanca for a strategic visit with a vision of long-term collaboration.

This meeting, which was held within Global Chinese Motors, a subsidiary of Bugshan Automotive Group, as well as at the Soriac assembly unit in Berrechid, marks a significant step in the partnership between the two nations and underlines the importance of Morocco as a platform and portal for Chinese investments in Africa, indicates a press release from the Chinese group.

Dongfeng comes to explore the opportunities that Morocco offers, both as a growing market and as a logistics center for Africa. This initiative aims to promote in-depth economic cooperation, develop local industrial capacities and stimulate innovation in the transport sector, continues the same source.

The signing of a memorandum of understanding between Dongfeng and Global Chinese Motors strengthens this cooperation, paving the way for “ambitious projects”. Among these, the creation of a training academy specialized in automotive technologies, planned to serve Africa, appears to be a flagship project, aiming to develop local technical skills and create qualified jobs, underlines the press release from the Chinese group.
