After the death of Grégory Villemin in 1984, Bernard Laroche was indicted (“indicted in the terms of the time), considered the main suspect in the first moments of the investigation. He was finally released, before dying at the hands of his cousin, Jean-Marie Villemin, a few weeks later.

An “established” fact

Many fingers are still pointed at the father of the Laroche family. “I say stop”, pleaded his widow on the air, “this must stop, constantly reprimanding Bernard” in the media. “My children suffered from it, now my grandchildren are suffering from it”, especially at school. Since this “odious crime”, then the murder and the conjectures concerning her husband, the members of her family “have been destroyed, crushed, and today, it continues”, she confided in a sob.

On October 16, 1984, the drowned body of “little Grégory” was discovered tied up in the Vologne, a river in the Vosges. “Here is my revenge – Poor bastard”, claims an anonymous letter addressed to the father by a “crow” who has been harassing the family of Christine and Jean-Marie Villemin for several years. Forty years after the events, several indictments and DNA expertise, the mystery still remains in the case which horrified an entire country.
