La Boule Joyeuse wins the Hérault Club Cup

A look back at the last Boule Joyeuse competition and its excellent results. After an almost perfect run in the group stage of the Hérault Club Cup, the Florensacois won quite easily against Vias, in the round of 16.

In the quarter-final, it was the Saint-Christol club, defending champion, who came to challenge the Boule Joyeuse pétanque players on their home turf. Perfect knowledge of the terrain must have played its role, because the Florensacois won this match, by a small point!

Last October 8, it was the friendly club which had the difficult task of organizing the semi-finals and finals of a competition which, initially, brought together 240 teams. In the semi-final, Montferrier-sur-Lez did not resist long, given the level of play provided by the Florensacois. In the other semi-final, it was Cournonsec who won with more difficulty. After a well-deserved break at midday, with the excellent meal prepared by the chef from Frontignan, it was at 3 p.m. that the final began.

A very competitive final considering the quality of the two teams. And, after five hours of a fierce but nonetheless friendly fight, the Boule Joyeuse defeated his opponent with a small margin, but that was enough for his happiness. Note the excellent organization of the Frontignan club. Congratulations to the Florensac “petanque grandpas” who, have no doubt, will put their title back on the line next season.
