Concarneau logically beat Plaintel on Saturday in the fifth round of the Coupe de France (0-4). The South Finisterians nevertheless showed “sufficiency”, according to their coach.

For this 5th round of the Coupe de France, on Saturday, more than 1,300 spectators came to support Plaintel at the Espace Océane. Their fervor was not enough to beat Concarneau, ultimately the clear winner (0-4). It must be said that the South Finisterians play four divisions higher, in National, and that they are co-leaders of their championship.
The Granitiers showed a beautiful face of amateur football, they were not ridiculous, but they did not make the Thoniers doubt either, except perhaps from the start of the match, on a free kick from Gouédard which forced Philippon to relax to avoid opening the score (8′). A few minutes later, Concarneau was clinical. The playmaker, Mouazan, adjusted Maugere with a shot close to the post (0-1, 16′).
The young goalkeeper, with a masterful flight, avoided the knockout on Injai’s volley (20′), but lost a second time to a strike from Sery, at the penalty spot (0-2, 28′ ). In the second half, Concarneau let its physical power express itself and found the opening again after a good exchange which Kielt concluded (0-3, 78′). Maugere had previously won his duel against Samara (71′). At the end of the match, Concarneau continued to play, Rossi rotated his squad and made numerous changes.

Concarneau therefore held its ticket for the sixth round and closed the scoreboard with a double from Sery, served by Bourgault (0-4, 89′). “The main thing is to get through. We had an average match and we were complacent against a team which showed a lot of determination and a good state of mind in a festive atmosphere. I rotated it because the whole group is concerned,” underlined Stéphane Rossi, the technician from Concarne. Mohamed Bekhti, coach of Plaintel, summed up: “The zones of truth are the last 20 meters. I’m happy, my players saw something else. It was a party in front of a beautiful gallery. »
