MONTREAL — A man was the victim of an attempted murder by shooting in Ahuntsic Tuesday evening, declared the Montreal Police Service (SPVM).

Around 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday, the SPVM could not confirm whether the victim had died. “We are still waiting for medical authorities regarding his state of health,” said Sabrina Gauthier, spokesperson for the SPVM.

Around 8:20 p.m., 9-1-1 received a call regarding a man lying on the ground on Avenue du Parc, near the intersection with Rue Legendre. Shortly before, noises resembling gunshots were heard.

A witness reportedly saw the victim on the ground.

Resuscitation maneuvers were carried out on the scene. The man, who is possibly in his thirties according to the SPVM, was transported to hospital.

Suspects allegedly fled in a vehicle before the arrival of the police, indicates the SPVM.

A security perimeter has been installed on avenue du Parc between boulevard Crémazie and rue Legendre.

Major Crimes investigators were heading to the crime scene as this was written.

There are no arrests in connection with this case at this time.
