This is called having excessive nerve. A rather determined bicycle thief was tried with two associates by the Versailles judicial court on Thursday October 10, 2024. The man had the nerve to demand that the real owner of the two-wheeler pay him 120 euros to recover his property . Not without forgetting to pour out a flood of insults and indecent propositions.

On the night of Tuesday October 8 to Wednesday October 9, the trio was spotted in the streets of Montesson (Yvelines) by a police officer at rest. They look into cars and over fences. At 2:35 a.m., a patrol saw them and checked them. Whose bicycles are these? “Ours,” the Algerian trio responds as one. Not quite.

With two serial numbers, the police will find the name of the buyer from the dealer. It’s about a man who lives just a stone’s throw away.

“I fuck French women”

Faced with the evidence, the trio will maintain that they are looking for a place to sleep. By default, they took advantage of the opportunity to seize the bicycles stored in a shed.
Known under different identities, the three explain that they arrived in France via Spain. All are under the influence of OQTF (Obligation to leave French territory). They claim to be in great precariousness and owe 500 euros to their smugglers. “I didn’t understand that we had to leave. Of course I will respect,” swears one.

Another is more aggressive, smiling widely in court. In police custody, he wanted fight with the police, while saying: “Fuck French women. »

The man assures that he did not feel well because he lacked cocaine.

The third thief appears more restrained. “Yes, I stole. Yes I am in an illegal situation. I came to France for major dental work. »

At the end of the debates, the verdict falls. Immediate incarceration sentences of 4, 6 and 8 months are imposed as well as a permanent ban of French territory. The most vehement cannot help but comment. ” I don’t understand. I admitted and was still convicted. »
