The association of elected officials of the town of Bagnols-sur-Cèze presented a check for 200 euros to Unapei as part of Operation Brioches.

Every year, the Unapei (National Union of Associations of Parents, People with Mental Disabilities and Their Friends) of renews its Brioches operation, during which brioches are sold for the benefit of the association. “Last year, it allowed us to finance clowns in Unapei 30 establishments” recalls Audrey Leroy, responsible for communications for the association. “We have the ambition to sell 20,000 brioches in one week in Gard” specifies the president of Unapei 30, Christian Rougier.

A check from the city’s elected officials

As usual, a few days before the launch of the operation, which will take place from Monday October 14 to 20, Unapei 30 tours the partner communities. Tuesday October 8, after Alès in the morning, a delegation from the association went to the town hall of Bagnols-sur-Cèze to present brioches to elected officials. The president of the city’s association of elected officials, security deputy Christian Baume, took the opportunity to offer a check for 200 euros from elected officials to the president of Unapei 30.

Unapei 30 manages 28 establishments in Gard, including 7 in Bagnols, and welcomes 1,000 people, from early childhood to the elderly” underlines Christian Rougier. Thus in Bagnols-sur-Cèze, the Ehpad (accommodation establishment for dependent elderly people) Saint-Roch was taken over by Unapei 30, “this is the only nursing home in Gard that we manage” specifies the president. “This nursing home is too small with its 37 beds, therefore not viable. Our long-term project is to create accommodation outside the walls in Bagnols, with small houses. We’re looking for land.”
