The Sarrebourg theater festival returns to the stage for its 20th edition! From Tuesday October 22 to Sunday November 3, shows will be performed almost every day at Espace Le Lorrain, which has scheduled this event to close its cultural year. This festival, sponsored by the town hall, is regularly sold out. “For the moment, no date is sold out, it’s too early,” says coordinator Hélène Oswald.

A live performance festival

“The objective is to promote local French-speaking theater,” explains Hélène Oswald. Indeed, it will be possible to find amateur and professional actors from around Sarrebourg such as Les Tréteaux, Les Sans-Diego, Le Tabouret, En Musique, Chaque Jour est une Fête, Dhamien Schmutz, Les Mots Zélés, Les Antidépresseurs or even the Lunéville home. But not only that. A theater troupe from Orléans will also be there. This is the Krizothéâtre company, which will perform a comedy based on the story of the first woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. “This festival represents theater in several forms, we can rather talk about live shows,” describes Hélène Oswald. It will be possible to find comedies, improvisation shows, sketches, music and even stories.

Final preparations

Two weeks before the first shows, the organizers are highly mobilized. “We are in the final preparations before the start of the festival,” confirms the coordinator. For example, it was necessary to postpone the show from Thursday, October 24, at 8:30 p.m., to Sunday, October 27, at the same time, due to the absence of an actor. They also focused this year on accessibility to shows for families. “We have a great program aimed at young audiences during the holidays,” explains Hélène Oswald. It is in this logic that certain shows will be performed in the morning at 10:30 a.m. or early in the afternoon at 3 p.m.
