Bas-Rhin was on yellow storm alert this Monday, October 7, and one town was particularly affected by the bad weather. A mudslide reached eight houses in a new housing estate in Wasselone.

Two houses among these eight were particularly affected by the mudslide, informs Jean-Philippe Hartmann, first deputy mayor. Fortunately, at least when I was there last night, the mud crossed the land without entering the houses. The residents are safe and sound.“According to our journalist on site this Tuesday morning, the houses were spared and the mud was removed.

The firefighters and the municipal team decided to use an excavator to “dig a trench and divert the water”. “We have on-call personnel for this type of emergency, the agent went to get the machine and came back to create this path“, adds Jean-Philippe Hartmann.

According to the deputy, the town is regularly affected by this phenomenon of mudslides during episodes of intense bad weather.
