The publication of the lists created a shock among political groups. The head of the list of Amadou Ba’s coalition in the department of Thiès resigns. In Kaolack, the PDS is undergoing bloodletting. This is also the case in Rufisque where mayor Dr Oumar Cissé has turned his back on Taxawu and Angélique Manga criticizes his position (32nd) on the Takku Wallu lists.

Following the publication of the lists, the Thiessois political leader Abdoulaye Dièye chosen to lead the departmental list of the Jam Ak Njariñ coalition of Amadou Ba turned his back. The president of the movement Siggi Jotna resigned because, he said, Amadou Ba did not want to join an inter-coalition in the department of Thiès as agreed.

The Alliance for the Republic (APR) risks paying a heavy price following the publication of the lists for the legislative elections of November 17. After Diouf Sarr, it is the turn of former minister Aminata Angélique Manga to criticize his position on the lists for the legislative elections. Positioned in 32nd position, she stepped up to denounce this failure. According to the spokesperson for her activists and supporters Mamadou Ba, former minister Aminata Angélique Manga even threatens to leave the APR in the days to come because of the inaugurations which she describes as a lack of consideration of which she is a victim. . He also informs that she could also follow his path.

The Senegalese Democratic Party (PDS) is also undergoing a bloodletting in the central zone, precisely in Kaolack. Indeed, the president of the departmental federation of Kaolack and no less president of the iron exporters of Senegal and president of the Great Movement for the Development of Senegal, has just turned his back on the liberal party. This decision, which fell just a stone’s throw from the anticipated 2024 legislative elections, will undoubtedly impact the PDS. “As of today, I have decided to leave the PDS in perfect agreement with the head of women of the communal section of Kaolack, Mariama Sène, the president of women of the commune of Ndoffane, Mame Sèye Ndoye, and the youth manager of the commune of Keur Socé, Serigne Thiam Niass and the 29 sectors of the PDS that I installed in the department,” he declared.

The reasons for this decision, he continues after careful reflection, are in line with the opinion of the base and were above all caused by officials of the liberal party who spared no effort to push me out since my companionship with the leader of BBY, Amadou Bâ, during the 2024 presidential election.

This same situation is also observed at Khalifa Sall where Dr Oumar Cissé, mayor of the town of Rufisque and former member of the 14th legislature, slammed the door. “My differences with comrades in the Taxawu leadership were deeper than I thought. Despite my position as president of the Conference of Leaders, I was unable to get the leadership of Taxawu to adopt this civic path. Faced with this observation, I decided not to appear on the lists for the legislative elections. Today, Taxawu has clearly crossed another threshold by co-hosting an inter-coalition with the APR. A few weeks ago, as was the case for two years, in unison with the deputies from Pastef, we from Taxawu opposed the BBY parliamentarians in their attempts to have the pernicious policies and laws of the Macky Sall regime adopted. Today, we are being asked to unite with the former APR deputies to counter the policies and laws recommended by the new authorities from Pastef with whom we have had discussions. It is incoherent, inexplicable and indefensible. I do not see politics as simply a means of securing positions of power by trampling on morality, virtue and ethics,” he explained.

Also in Mbacké, by consulting the list of “Takku Wallu Senegal” which brings together several political parties including the Apr, one observation emerges: all the major leaders of President Macky Sall’s party in Touba have been excluded. Indeed, apart from Serigne Modou Bara Dolly who heads the departmental majority, none of its known leaders have been chosen. We don’t see them anywhere, neither on the departmental road nor on the national road.

Abdou Lahad Seck Sadaga, former deputy and first political leader to have represented the APR in the religious city, sees through this decision “a very clear message”. For him, some definitely want to throw him into the slaughterhouse. “I remain attached to President Macky Sall. We are not bound by politics. Therefore, I renew my friendships and intend to protect them. However, we noted that no leader of the Apr de Touba was invested. Those who were commissioned chose and they chose themselves and their friends, preferring to exclude us. We have taken note of this choice which we consider to be an affront. They have taken their responsibilities, we will take ours.”
